happy halloween!

Just a quick post to say Happy Halloween! As a Harry Potter fanatic family we decided to dress up as Harry, Bellatrix and I made Daisy a Dobby costume out of an old pillow case and paper ears stuck to a headband!

I have work tomorrow so we're staying in together and having pizza and waiting for The Only Way Is Essex to come on as my SFX make up work will be making a TV debut after I did make up for Tom Kilbey.

I hope you all have a great Halloween and have got your best fancy dress on!

Halloween look for under £10

If you're in a rush for Halloween and cant think of a specific costume or theme I've created a simple, quick look using MUA cosmetics which costs a grand total of £9 to create!

I used MUA's Glamour Nights palette (£4) to achieve a paler complexion by dabbing the white eyeshadow over my face with a latex sponge. I then contoured my cheeks very slightly with the black shade and added a small pop of red/pink eyeshadow onto the cheeks as a blush.

For the eyes I applied the black shade from Glamour Nights to my eyelid and blended upwards to create a smokey effect. I then created an exaggerated liner look with Extreme Felt Liner (£2). I shaped and filled in my brows with Extreme Felt Liner and highlighted with the white shade. You can also add lashes if you wish, such as Siren for a fuller, more dramatic finish,

On my lips I applied Lip Boom (£3) in It's a Situation and then outlined with Glamour Nights black shade using a fine brush and blending inwards.

For an extra spooky touch you can add fake blood, which can be made using Golden Syrup and red food colouring from your kitchen cupboards!

what's in my make up bag

Benefit Porefessional primer: I tend to only have two problems with my skin; oily t-zone and open pores. Because of this my make up tends to almost slip off during the day and can cling to my pores which looks absolutely lovely.. I tried Porefessional early this year and I've been hooked since. It's translucent and mattifies my skin, minimising my pores, any redness, blemishes, etc and makes my make up last so much longer, one of the best primers I've tried!

Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation: I wanted a foundation, again, that would be oil free, provide a matte finish and medium - full coverage. I tried Double Wear max coverage and didn't have the best time with that foundation, which put me off trying any of the other versions, but I finally bit the bullet and invested in Double Wear. It's perfect on my skin and I'm really happy with the results.

Collection Lasting Perfection concealer: So if you're a beauty blogger and haven't read about this concealer you may or may not have been living under a rock for a while - it's such a hyped product and I'd say it's definitely worth the hype! I've been using this for a good year now, it's my holy grail concealer and at £4.19 it's an absolute bargain!

Sleek brow kit: Some people cant go out without foundation on, others a full face of make up.. I cant go out unless my brows are shaped and defined, I literally feel naked without this product on! It's a lot like Benefit's Brow Zings, in fact it's pretty much exactly the same as Brow Zings except it's around £15 cheaper. You groom your brows into shape and fill them in using the wax and then follow to set with the powder, two very simple steps that make such a difference to your face!

Benefit Peek a Bright Eyes: I don't really wear eyeshadow or liner anymore, if I fancy making a little more effort with my make up I like to line my eyes with the dark brown shade from this handy little kit and use the vanilla shade all over my lid and up to my brow bone. There are so many ways to wear these three shades, I'd really recommend buying this!

Benefit They're Real Mascara: Before finding this I would use around three to four mascaras in my everyday make up routine, I never found one that could lengthen  curl, volumize and separate my lashes without the dreaded smudge under and above the eyes. Thankfully, this mascara does all four things and is water resistant and smudge proof, I'd say this is definitely my holy grail mascara!

MUA Bronzer: I use this lightly contour my cheeks and add a little more warmth to my face. It reminds me a little of Benefit's Hoola because it's a matte finish, however MUA's bronzer is much easier to blend, with Hoola you have to work very quick or it becomes patchy. I've recently repurchased this which is a big deal for me as usually I like to shop around, but I was so happy with this I bought it again. Also, it's only £2 and it actually lasted me a whole year before I had to purchase again!

Clinique Blushwear Cream Stick in Shy Blush: This is a lovely shade for blush, a very natural bronze, rosy pink that glides on so smooth and blends in like a dream! I've definitely converted to cream blush after using this.

MUA Shade 1 eyeshadow: I love, love, love this eyeshadow as a highlighter! After reading Karla's blog and seeing that she uses this to highlight in most of her amazing make up creations I bought it (for £1!!!) and fell in love with it. I use this on my cheek bones, under my brow bone and on my cupids bow.

Various lipsticks: I like to have nude eyes and bold lips, that's pretty much what I wear everyday. These lip products are my most worn shades and are usually always in my make up bag or handbag. They include (not all photographed) MAC Snob, Impassioned and Chatterbox, MUA Lip Boom in Bring It, Hello Kitty in Betz Believe and Illamasqua cream pigment in Depravity. I always wear lipstick, it's pretty much the staple of my make up, I decide which lipstick I want to wear and build the rest of my make up around it, just wanna give whoever invented lipstick two very enthusiastic thumbs up, thanks mate!

illamasqua midnight shop

Illamasqua are celebrating Halloween this year by adding a new 'Midnight shop' to their website. The section is filled with lipsticks, liners, eye shadows and other Illamasqua goodies perfect for creating dark and gothic, creative looks.

The brand have already offered 20% discount off all products in the Midnight shop, but if you partake in their game of trick or treat you could be rewarded with an extra 20% off on top! I landed on treat and with a total of 40% discount off the RRP price I had to buy the Precision Ink in Scribe.

The shop is complete with amazing 'get the look' face charts created by the talented Illamasqua artists, including which products you need to re-create the look for yourself. Do you like any of these looks? Will you be buying anything from the Midnight Shop?

HALF SUGAR SKULL, POP ART INSPIRED, CARTOON PIN UP ZOMBIE, CREEPY DOLL

Lately I've been getting right into the Halloween spirit and trying a few ideas for costumes out, so far I've only looked at ideas for girls but I'm in the process of persuading my boyfriend to let me play with his face and create some guys Halloween looks. I'm looking forward to a few Halloween jobs I've been booked for, including Jessica Rabbit and a his and hers sugar skull look - what are you doing for Halloween? Are you going to be dressing up this year? I've said Halloween way too many times in this post. Halloween.

favorite beauty purchase

I bought myself a Clinique three step skin care set and I'm really liking the products. My skin is combination skin so my set contained a mild liquid facial soap, clarifying toner and dramatically different moisturiser, my favorite product is the moisturiser for sure! I've only been using this for a week but I'm intending to write a post on this set once I've been using it a little longer.

favorite brand

I know most people hate Hello Kitty and hate grown up people who still like Hello Kitty but I in fact love Hello Kitty and the 2005 scene kid inside of me refuses to give it up, so when I saw the new cosmetics range in Superdrug I was so excited! They had a whole range of products including some lovely shades of lipstick, nail polish, eyeliner, lashes etc. I bought a lipstick and nail polish and will be reviewing them over the weekend!

I caught Daisy-Rose playing with my make up and she looked so cheeky, eight months is too young for make up D. Mitchell (who's Daisy's daddy & my boyfriend, I've realised I never talk about him on here!?|) and I found this adorable hat for D also, she looks so adorable in it!

favorite tv show
I'm a sucker for trash TV and I've become addicted to series 3 of Geordie Shore. I loved (no shame) the past two series and Charlotte is so hilarious, not the most ladylike, but still, hilarious.
